Crony Medicine Offers Exotic New Flu Vaccines

Girl getting flu shotThe US Institute of Medicine disregards the thousands of adverse event reports for flu shots. Action Alert!

Big Pharma has some exotic new flu products for fall 2013, including quadrivalent (four-in-one) vaccines produced using dog kidney cells (Flucelvax) and army worm cells (Flublok).

Researchers are also closer to developing what they believe will be a “universal” flu shot that will protect against every new strain of the disease, though its implementation will be at least five years off.

With prices expected to increase by 50%, the new vaccines “provide a route to premium pricing that could improve margins and profits in a highly competitive market,” reported Reuters. The global flu vaccine market is estimated at $3.7 billion per year.

But Vicky Debold, PhD, RN, and volunteer director of Research and Patient Safety for the National Vaccine Information Center, warned that “we need more information” about these new vaccines. Debold served as the consumer member of the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) from 2008 to 2012 and was a temporary voting member for the VRBPAC meeting this past February to select the influenza strains to be included in the 2013/2014 flu shot. Debold stated:

We’re playing around now with trivalent and quadrivalent vaccines, we’re playing around with the different doses of antigen, we’re playing around with different platforms. We’ve got eggs, dog kidney cells, baculovirus army worm cells. There are a number of variables that are going on. My question is, how are we going to know that the vaccines that are out there next year are safe and effective, and how are we going to collect and use this information to inform our decisions next year?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently performed an analysis of vaccination of healthcare workers. Experts commenting on the analysis said the data “showed little evidence of protection for patients.” Strangely, they still thought immunization of healthcare workers was a good idea. An increasing number of healthcare systems require their staff to get flu shots in the name of protecting patients.

Dr. Joseph Mercola reported that a flu shot only benefits 1.5% of the population. That’s because most of what people call “the flu” is either not actually flu or is a strain other than the one being targeted by that year’s flu shot.

Without a flu shot, approximately 2.7% of adults come down with the type of flu that flu shots can prevent. With flu shots, that number drops to 1.2%. So the shot ultimately benefits only the 1.5% of the population who might have contracted that type of flu but didn’t, because they got a flu shot.

The highly respected Cochrane Coalition this year published a study that compared vaccinated people with unvaccinated people, and found that under ideal conditions (with the vaccine completely matching that year’s viruses in circulation), 33 healthy adults need to be vaccinated to avoid one set of influenza symptoms. In average conditions (in which the vaccine only partially matches the viruses), 100 people need to be vaccinated to avoid one set of influenza symptoms. They also found that vaccine use did not affect the number of people hospitalized or working days lost, but caused one case of Guillian-Barré syndrome (a major neurological condition leading to paralysis) for every one million vaccinations. “Our results may be an optimistic estimate,” they noted, “because company-sponsored influenza vaccines trials tend to produce results favorable to their products.”

The shot still might be worth getting—if there were no downside. (Just as we don’t resent buckling our seatbelts for thousands of trips in which we never have an accident.) Unfortunately, as most alternative doctors agree, there is quite a large downside to injecting pathogens, mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, squalene, and other toxic substances directly into the bloodstream.

The 2010-2011 trivalent vaccine alone generated 8,200 adverse event reports, but the US government’s Institute of Medicine (IOM) refuses to evaluate adverse event reports, saying that they will only consider peer-reviewed research. At the same time, they won’t do the peer-reviewed research themselves or encourage anyone else to do it. And why is that? Consider this: many IOM researchers depend on drug companies for support. So how can we expect an organization with such rampant conflicts of interest even to acknowledge, much less investigate, the thousands of adverse event reports related to the flu vaccine?

This is not unusual. The government is in partnership with Big Pharma (and, by extension, Big Media), a crony capitalist arrangement that affects vaccine development, procurement, sales, and marketing, and ensures huge profits for the pharmaceutical industry. As we pointed out two years ago, the government gives patent protection and FDA approvals to pharmaceutical companies and thus creates medical monopolies. The government also exempts vaccine makers from legal liability, sometimes invests in the businesses themselves, then adds the threat of jail for consumer non-compliance.

Often the dangers of vaccines are not evident until years later, as with the swine flu vaccine Pandemrix that was given to 31 million people across Europe in 2009-2010. The UK government is now acknowledging that the vaccine has caused narcolepsy. Damages could reach £1million per person harmed.

Robert Rowen, MD, reports in his October 2013 newsletter that the FDA approved last year’s H5N1 (bird flu) vaccine without proof that it worked, and it took two doses to create an immune response. Even then, only 60% of those over age 65 showed some immune response.

Mercury, in the form of thimerosal, is still used in many flu vaccines. As Dr. Frank Shallenberger points out, “There’s still a hefty dose of thimerosol in the flu shots sold on every street corner in the country. It is also present in the vaccine RhoGam, which doctors give to pregnant women.” Other flu vaccines for 2013-2014 that contain mercury are listed in Table 1 on the CDC website. Thimerosal in vaccines is also legal in the European Union and is still used in several vaccines such as Pandemrix. The European CDC states that thimerosal can also be found in certain multi-dose influenza vaccines.

Antibiotics prevent the excretion of mercury, so patients on antibiotics may find it hard to rid their bodies of mercury. Tellingly, the use of antibiotics is higher in autistic children.

As we reported in January, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) decided there would be no global ban on vaccines containing the mercury compound—a stance we fought against because of thimerosal’s documented dangers.

The best bet to avoiding downtime with the flu is to build up your health and immunity year round, not just during flu season. Vitamin D, vitamin C, and zinc are essential for preventing respiratory infections of all kinds. In fact, a respected Japanese study concluded that vitamin D was as effective as vaccine in preventing flu, including pandemic flu. And of course it is also effective as a treatment if you already have the flu. Dr. Jonathan Wright reports that zinc acetate lozenges reduced by half the time that people were sick with the common cold, and he and Dr. David Brownstein strongly recommend taking vitamin A (real A, not beta carotene).

Action Alert! Tell the Institute of Medicine to consider the thousands of adverse event reports that doctors have filed about flu vaccines. How can we make flu shots safer if we ignore the problems they’ve already caused?

That future universal flu shot is supposed to work by stimulatint the exact same thing that vitamin D3 already does. But then again, you can’t charge for sunshine. Yet.

It looks as if the flu shot has more problems that the Shingles vaccine does, and that one has only a 40% effective rate. Something they don’t bother telling people, just that they need to get the vaccine. It outrages my doctor. 40 %? Sorry, it has to be better than that for me to pay and receive it. I am glad there is someone out there paying attention to the flu shots. I think I will skip mine this year. I have always wondered if all these new vaccines are all that effective. Looks like perhaps they aren’t as effective as I would want in risking putting heaven-knows-what in my body.

If I am ever forced to be vaccinated I will would take at least five grams of vitamin  before and after. Less for my children under five years of age, Vitamin C also neutralizes most poisons and toxins, including snake, insect and drugs.    …dez…

Just to let you know I was one who had a reaction to last years double flu shot. I’m wondering if I should have a flu shot this year since it will be four doses in one. My reaction made me want to die for four hours. I have had shots since the beginning in the late 50’s and only one made me very tired for one day.

We don’t want your flu shots. Stop pushing your for profit flu scam on innocent people.

The term “playing around” is a gratuitous insult to physicians and scientists and suggests an irrational animus.

The Cochrane report on flu vaccinations addressed individuals receiving a single vaccination in a single year. One would not expect a vaccine to protect one from a flu strain that was not included in that year’s package. One would expect that the very young and the very old might not be fully immunized due to their weaker immune systems. Those over 65 require a higher dose and most medical insurance does cover the additional cost.

Assuming that Cochrane’s primarily European and UK sources apply to the U.S. , the model of a single vaccination in a single year may not apply. We who are vaccinated every year would be immunized against a strain that was left out of this year’s package if it was included in some previous year’s package. Furthermore, the common antigens in the vaccine would have a greater cumulative effect on a weakened immune system through annual exposure than would a single dose. Annual vaccination also falsifies the claim regarding antigens that require two doses separated in time.

What vast conspiracy would cause profit-driven insurance companies to cover the cost of flu vaccination if it did not reduce their cost for treatment of actual flu cases?

Vocabulary.com says “Demagoguery is a manipulative approach that appeals to the worst nature of people. Demagoguery isn’t based on reason, issues, and doing the right thing; it’s based on stirring up fear and hatred to control people.”

An injected antigen can trigger an inappropriate immune response such as Guillain-Barre syndrome but it is demagoguery to pretend that all cases stem from vaccines. Virtually all Guillain-Barre cases are triggered by actual infection. If a vaccine reduces the frequency of infection then it REDUCES one’s chance of Guillain-Barre.

It is also demagoguery to pretend that tiny amounts of mercury in the same range that one would consume from an ordinary can of tuna are acutely harmful. Did we learn nothing from the autism fraud and the “pay me big bucks to replace your amalgam fillings” scam? Thimerosal is used only in multi-dose vials. If one visits a group vaccination site (as I do) one might be exposed. If one receives a vaccination from one’s physician (as my wife does) there will be NO thimerosal.

Please show this audience a some respect.

All the information I need to know re any vaccine, flu or otherwise. Anyone else noticed how carefully the CDC & WHO dodges mentioning any historical research on vaccine. That should tell all of us to do a little on our own. When I went looking for historical research on vaccinated vs unvaccinated, I found that in cultures where they did not vaccinate, (as in the Amish), they have NO autism. Compare that to the record that Austism among our vaccinated children is still soaring or skyrocketing.

Another interesting and telling fact emerged from a blurb on the front page of The Tennesean
a few years back. The bureau wasn’t named, but it said a federal official in Atlanta had just released information regarding an increase in new measles cases during the current year. Don’t remember the numbers, but the total of new cases had already exceeded the number for the preceding year, although the figure quoted for the current year only covered 7 months. versus a full 12 months for the preceding year. Knowing that the CDC’s headquarters is in Atlanta, Ga. and
this is the bureau that keeps up with such statistics, it seemed reasonable to assume that this
release came from the CDC. The federal official was concerned that more parents might opt to not vaccinate their children.

However another statistic mentioned in this release was: ” slightly less than 1/2 of the new measles
cases were among the unvaccinated children”” is the one that made me do a double take and say
“What is wrong with this statement?”!

If you haven’t spotted what is wrong with this statement yourself, ask yourself: “If slightly less than 1/2 of the new measles cases are among the unvaccinated children, where are slightly more than
1/2 of these new measles cases”.

My answer was “obviously among the vaccinated children”, which led me to the conclusion that if this was true then obviously the vaccines harmed the children’s immune systems, even if only slightly. Now I advise everyone to think twice before ever getting another vaccine of any kind.
The CDC also advises boosters for these childhood disease vaccines, because they realize that
the vaccines do not give the same lifetime immunity that letting the child have the disease does.

Since the Amish grow and process their own food, I would also lay you odds that they little or no Alzheimers Disease. Anyone have any information on this one?

I haven’t got a flu shot since the Army made me & won’t ever again unless the Obamanation makes me.

Thank you for the information in this article, the more those of us who know the truth about vaccines speak up, the harder it’s going to be for the powers that be to uphold the lies.
